AMR's coverage of the Spend Management sector is back with a vengeance. Not quite two years after Pierre Mitchell’s departure, AMR is leading the charge in analyzing the procurement and sourcing market opportunity for both end-users and solution providers alike. Tomorrow, Lora Cecere, Mark Hillman, Mickey North-Rizza, and a number of other AMR team members are holding an Open House event for Spend Management solution providers. The day is billed as an opportunity to analyze "The Role of Procurement and Sourcing and the Emerging Opportunity Within Demand-Driven Supply Networks". The AMR team was kind enough to invite me to attend the event, but I've got a client commitment that day. I'm bummed, because I'd love to be at the Open House to cover it for the blog. I'm hoping that the attendees and AMR's team can provide me with some of the details to share here with Spend Matters readers later in the week. Also, if you're attending the event, please feel free to post your comments and thoughts here at Spend Matters.
As far as I know, this is the first vendor-specific event of its kind -- before, during, or after the B2B boom. Never before has an analyst firm invited a group of dedicated Spend Management providers together for a day of interaction. I wish that when I was a part of the vendor world, that AMR or another firm had held a similar get together.
