I should have shared the gossip earlier, but you still read it here first last week. Today the rumor proved true: Emptoris and DiCarta are joining forces. I'm guessing the combined entity will have a run-rate somewhere around $60-$70 million in combined annual revenue, making it a dominant number two player in the Spend Management (or supply management, if you insist) applications marketplace. Following deal close, Emptoris will "have more than 150 enterprise customers including leaders such as ConocoPhillips, GlaxoSmithKline, Kraft, Motorola, and United Healthcare". The combined company will have "a strong global presence across Europe and Asia Pacific, with the product deployed and supported in over 51 countries and in 16 languages." Check back later today as we analyze the implications of the deal in more detail.
