Next week, I'm planning to stop by Corporate United's Synergy Conference in Chicago and cover it on Spend Matters. Corporate United has managed to get a good slate of speakers for the show, and I'm looking forward to catching up with a number of old friends and colleagues who will be attending.
Recently, a number of people have asked me the criteria for which I'll go to a conference. Quite simply, there are not hard and fast rules. For sponsors, I typically will attend at least one event a year (and cover it on the blog, for the better or worse). For non sponsors, I'm happy to stop by Chicago-based events if the topic and speakers look interesting and I have the time. Occasionally, I'll hop on a flight for other events that have particular appeal, but as Spend Matters still contributes only a small amount to my household GDP, I'm limited in my time I can commit to travel for it. Hopefully this will change in the future!
