I sat through a number of the morning sessions today at Synergy 2006 and will be returning for the final two keynotes this afternoon. Earlier today, we were treated to a history lesson on FreeMarkets courtesy of entrepreneur turned investor turned future politician Glen Meakem (scroll down for commentary). Glen's presentation was as insightful and charismatic as always, but it strayed from the topic that many thought he would address around managing entrepreneurial suppliers. More on target was CPO and Supply Management editor Geraint John who treated the audience to a fascinating look at the differences between US and UK / European purchasing executives (based on a survey by London Business School and Ariba). I plan to post more later today / tonight -- especially on Geraint's presentation -- so stay tuned. Next up this afternoon: Pierre "I can fit the whole world on one slide" Mitchell.
