Apexon has been kicking around in various iterations since the initial B2B boom years ago. But only recently have they started to gain the ear of senior procurement and operations executives when it comes to improving supply performance. While relatively small (30-40 people), their supplier performance management summit in Chicago this week had an impressive list of companies and attendees interested in learning more about how supply performance can bridge the gap between procurement and operations. The summit coincided with an announcement touting the re-launch of their solutions. Apexon is not the only provider to talk about supply performance management these days -- Verticalnet and Emptoris also have credible offerings -- but they are currently the most focused pure-play provider with the broadest set of capabilities in the arena.
