Eye For Procurement was kind enough to offer me a pass to their Sourcing in Low Cost Countries shin-dig next week in Chicago. The agenda looks great, combining both the sourcing and transportation elements of global sourcing. I'm especially looking forward to learning more about some of the infrastructure and lead time issues that can make sourcing from India and China challenging for companies running a lean shop. I'll be at the event part of the conference for at least a day -- perhaps two -- and will report back what I learn on Spend Matters. If you plan to attend, drop me a line. And if you see someone furiously typing away notes on his well-worn Dell in the back-row, drop by and introduce yourself.
