It seems that every week this conference season, I've run into AMR's Mickey North Rizza. Whether it was at Sapphire or ISM, I could pretty much bank on the fact that Mickey would be around, covering the procurement and sourcing implications of vendor announcements and practitioner use cases. At AMR, Mickey has been quietly building up her practice area, and recently, the firm brought on a new analyst, Jane Barrett, who is working closely with Mickey in a number of areas. I've had the pleasure of meeting Jane a number of times this year already, and can say that she brings a great background -- both consulting and vendor leadership roles most recently, not to mention hands-on practitioner knowledge from earlier in her career -- to her new role at AMR.
If you're an AMR subscriber, you can read two recent briefs that she bylined with Mickey. The first, "Turning Procurement Into Strategic Supply Management: Lessons From ISM", is a write-up of AMR's analysis from various sessions at ISM. The second, "Awarding Excellence: Profiles in Supply Management Best Practices from ISM" examines procurement organizations which are standing out from the crowd, winning accolades and awards. Please join me in offering Jane a warm welcome to the Spend Management analyst and advisory world.
