Procurement: Where You Don't Want to Be?

The greatest thing about being a blogger is that when one detects an injustice in the world, we often have the opportunity to be the catalyst that sets it right -- faster than anyone else. Earlier today, Tim Minahan was hopefully the spark that corrects a great injustice perpetrated by none-other than our Federal government. According to Tim's post, "the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that overall employment for purchasing and supply managers is expected to 'grow slower' than the average for all occupations through the year 2014". In addition to being the only negative job forecast for procurement that I've seen out there, the Feds also get salary information wrong as well -- at least relative to every other survey in the market. Tim suggests lodging complaints by email to dataqa@bls.gov and bringing up the following issues with your complaint:

- The information quality issue with the report

- How this information will negatively impact your organization

- Suggestions on how the data can be improved
