It just came across the wire this morning that Steve Savignano is back leading the charge at Ketera. Steve is replacing Burton Goldfield, who the Board brought in during the spring of 2006 to take over for Steve (who previously had been CEO at Ketera since its transition from the MarketMile years). So what does this mean for Ketera customers and the broader market at large? From what I know of Steve, his personality and Burton's could not be more different.
Ketera will clearly be a different company now that he is returning. Steve and I had words for each other in the past, but I would like to at least give him the benefit of the doubt this time around and open up a dialog. We'll see what comes of it. I'm personally a big supporter of Ketera's recent foray in to what they term Supply Base Management but I suppose only time will tell whether this remains a major focus for them under Steve's leadership. Perhaps they will go back to more aggressively targeting the traditional procure-to-pay market. My guess is that we'll know more in the coming weeks and months.
