I could have made this announcement on April Fools Day, but we both decided it would not be an appropriate day to introduce a vendor like Zycus to the Spend Matters sponsorship community. Hence, we waited a few extra days. But today I'm thrilled to announce that Zycus has become a new Associate Sponsor to Spend Matters. For those who don't know Zycus, the Spend Management provider has quietly branched out from a leadership position in the data cleansing and classification market to offer a wide array of sourcing, contract management and analytics capabilities, all of which are quite novel in their approach to the market. Whether the solution approach less-travelled turns out to give them a leg up in the market with their relatively recent offerings -- that I'll be exploring in a forthcoming post -- remains to be seen, but all signs are looking positive from a product perspective. Perhaps more important, I've been impressed over the years with Zycus' truly global orientation. While much of the management is based in India, Zycus is truly one of the few "world companies" in this sector, with significant traction in North American, Europe and Asia. While the US has been a focus for some time, Zycus is probably more knowledgeable about serving truly global clients (in complex global environments) than almost any vendor I speak with under $100 million or so in revenue in targeting the Spend Management market.
