I'm very excited to announce that Endeca became an Associate Sponsor of Spend Matters earlier today. In the past few months, I've had the chance to get much closer to their solutions than I was before. And what I've learned, especially from a manufacturing perspective, is that the ability to bring structured and unstructured sources of information together (e.g., design / part information, spend data, supplier performance data, risk information, etc.) can play an absolutely critical part in weathering the downturn successfully. Even though manufacturing tech and services spending is down in general as overall volume levels have dropped, there's still a huge need to tackle the intersection of procurement, finance, operations, design and risk management information. And Endeca is ideally situated to sit on top of existing systems to do just this.
With Endeca, seeing is believing. If you've not had a chance to check out the application, I'd make the time to do a Webex walk through or better, demo it in person. At the very least, I promise it will open your mind about the possibilities of how you can change and modify your business to take advantage of better information access, using data sources across and even outside your organization. In all my years looking at procurement technology, Endeca falls into my "truly different" camp. They transcend vendor marketing lingo (e.g., spend analysis) and even detailed product analysis on this blog and others do not do the application justice. You've got to see it for yourself. In the meantime, please join me in thanking Endeca for maintaining their presence on Spend Matters and becoming an Associate Sponsor.
