Friday Rant: Scheduling Briefing and Announcement Time with Spend Matters

It has been a crazy couple of weeks around here at Spend Matters. As you read in our last post from earlier this morning, there are a lot of changes going on, and we've found ourselves in the middle of a great problem to have: we're involved in so many projects and briefings, overseas trips / expansion opportunities that time is becoming stretched to the breaking point. So we sat down yesterday morning and decided that something needs to be done so that a) we can continue to deliver quality posts, deliverables and research on time; b) we can have a life outside of work; and c) we can write up briefings and related discussions we think are worth sharing in a timely manner versus the 2-3 month delay that has become common.

There will be a further announcement on the website, but as of now, here are the ground rules when it comes to setting up briefing times with Jason and the rest of the growing team, etc.

  • Briefings will ONLY take place on Thursdays from 4-5:20pm CT and Fridays from 2-4:30pm CT. Exceptions will be made for Europe and Asia, who will be allotted Thursday morning time slots from 8:30-10:30am CT.

  • Briefings are limited to 40 minutes, including introductions (plan for 10-15 minutes of introduction/background and to spend the remaining time on the presentation or the announcement).

  • Please plan to provide reference contacts for follow-up on the call.

  • Follow-up demos are limited to 30 minutes unless exceptions are made.

It's our readers and sponsors who have put us into this position, and we couldn't be happier with the success we're enjoying -- so thanks for that, because you make it happen. We're also working to put together a web form for future communication and scheduling. There is currently a waiting period until September for new briefings with Jason Busch, although other members of the research team may be available for discussions before then, if appropriate. If you want to book time this fall (or earlier with another member of the team), we would recommend getting in touch quickly, as spots are filling up.

For any scheduling or research related questions, please contact me (Sheena): smoore (at) spendmatters (dot) com.

Commercial and sponsorship questions should still be directed to William Busch: wbusch (at) spendmatters (dot) com.
