Boeing Supplier Spirit Moves 787 Wing-Part Output to Malaysia -- Boeing Co. supplier Spirit AeroSystems Holdings Inc. will move production of a wing component on the 787 Dreamliner to Malaysia from Tulsa, Oklahoma, as the company works to meet demand for parts. The shift involves what is called the fixed leading edge composite wing component, Spirit said today in a statement. The Wichita, Kansas-based company said its Malaysia operation has worked with composite materials such as those used on the 787.

IBM to Build Food-Safety System for Pork in China's Shandong -- International Business Machines Corp. (IBM), the world's largest computer-services company, won a contract to build a food-monitoring system in China as the nation toughens supervision of food safety after scandals. The system for Shandong Commercial Group Co. will ensure the safety of pork products in the coastal province, Harriet Ip, a spokeswoman in Singapore for Armonk, New York-based IBM, said in an e-mail today. Financial terms weren't disclosed for the project, scheduled for completion in 2013.
