Through the 1980s, the rapid growth of affordable localised computing started to change the way buyers and sellers worked together. EDI came along, and now buyers were asking – or more likely, requiring – suppliers to embrace new processes, ideas and technology. Now, of course, there are numerous examples of such processes, and buyers may require suppliers to work with them in a number of processes or activities that rely on technology.
