Boeing is setting some goals and creating quite a few more jets
Boeing gets grip on 787 supply chain with upsized jumbos –(Reuters) – A Boeing Co official said the planemaker has its sprawling global supply chain under control for its lightweight Dreamliner jet and plans to ratchet up production, a jump in output a Japanese supplier said could expose new supply bottlenecks. Boeing has outfitted at least four 747 freighters with wider fuselages, dubbed “Dreamlifters”, to gather parts from around the world for its 787 jet that are then assembled at plants in Washington and South Carolina in the United States…

US Grain Exports-Corn, wheat sales slump on lofty prices–Oct 12 (Reuters) – U.S. corn export sales fell well short of expectations last week to just a fraction of the normal harvest-time pace as near-record-high prices after the worst U.S. drought in a half century encouraged importers to buy feed grains elsewhere. Export sales of U.S. wheat fell for a third consecutive week last week, according to weekly U.S. Agriculture Department data released on Friday, hitting a four-month low due to high U.S. prices and stiff competition from rival suppliers…

Bain Capital to Buy Call Center Business for $1.3 Billion–LONDON – The private equity firm Bain Capital agreed on Friday to buy the call center unit of the European telecommunications giant Telefónica for 1 billion euros ($1.3 billion). The deal is the second announced by Bain Capital this week. The private equity firm co-founded by the U.S. presidential candidate Mitt Romney agreed on Wednesday to acquire the Apex Tool Group, a maker of hand and power tools, for $1.6 billion…
