Another June Wedding: We're Merging Spend Matters and Spend Matters PRO

Around this time last year, we launched Spend Matters PRO, our premium subscription service. Despite not having a direct sales presence – not to mention with what amounts to word-of-mouth marketing – we managed to sign up over 50 different paid member companies through May 2013. And thanks to some new channel partnerships, that count will number over 250 this July.

It’s all very exciting for us, but there is much, much more to come. We’ve held off on the aggressive push on PRO commercially in large part because it’s taken a long time to truly turn our original vision into a reality.

Here’s the big news: we’re restructuring Spend Matters and Spend Matters PRO into a single site. We’ve spent a lot of time defining our internal content structure, to present useful material in a way that will help you find exactly what you need. And we realized that it didn’t really make sense to have two different sites dedicated to delivering that content. We listened to our readers: it's time to stop over-complicating things.

New Pricing Structure Membership levels will also be simplified. We’re changing the name and structure for our current Spend Matters PRO Core and Spend Matters PRO Plus into two simple tiers of access: Spend Matters Plus and Spend Matters PRO. The focus of Spend Matters Plus will be on increasing your knowledge level on all things procurement. Spend Matters PRO will bring you the in-depth detail to aid in your procurement strategy.

Both membership levels will have exciting new features (some of which are listed below).

  • Site Forums for interaction with Spend Matters and your peers. Three levels of access: open to all, non-member read-only, and members-only.
  • Expanded article previews of members-only content.
  • LIVE ‘Ask-the-Analyst’ webinars for Plus/PRO subscribers (Pierre, Thomas, Peter and I will alternate weeks, lay out a topic, and answer your questions directly during the event)

One more thing… (Pardon my tip of the hat to the late Steve Jobs). We are reducing the monthly membership fee for Spend Matters Plus from $29.99 to $19.99. That's all the content in the previous Spend Matters PRO Core level, with new features, for $19.99 a month.

So, lets re-cap. Three content access levels: Free (There will still be the same daily Spend Matters content – that’s not going to change), Spend Matters Plus, and Spend Matters PRO. One combined site, same content, new features, and Spend Matters Plus at a new lower price.

So whether you’re a current Spend Matters PRO member or not, look for a single combined site in the coming weeks, and look for a lot more previews, sneak-peeks, and membership details as we lead up to launch.
