I had the chance to catch up with Coupa’s CEO Rob Bernshteyn yesterday in advance of the latest press release announcement highlighting 2013 growth numbers, customer wins and the like. We get these press releases all the time at Spend Matters and typically take them with the usual grain of salt (after all, there are a lot of ways of playing around with numbers). But despite a few hiccups and areas for solution enhancement that we’ve explored in the past year, Coupa’s rise is very real, even if the marketing folks look to accentuate the positive.
