Hubwoo’s roots go back many years and once spanned sourcing and hosted ERP procurement. However, today Hubwoo is focused entirely on its supplier network business, including associated capabilities for enabling SAP and other procurement environments with a set of cloud-based connectivity offerings and tools. As for Spend Matters Almanac categories, besides Supplier Networks & Platforms, Hubwoo also positioned itself in Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and Source-to-Pay.
To say Hubwoo is just a transactional connectivity alternative to that larger network that falls under SAP’s auspices would not be doing it justice. Hubwoo in fact brings a set of capabilities, in addition to e-invoicing workflow and connectivity, that enable organizations to “surround” ERP procurement deployments and preserve their investment, by adding capabilities in such areas as catalog management, e-invoicing, and workflow on top of the previous deployment.
Hubwoo also brings a stealth shopping/requisitioning toolset to the eProcurement table, although it’s just as comfortable sitting on top of SAP SRM with a new “skin” that replaces the previous SAP UI – which provides wonderful finger workouts if you want to buy something, what with all the clicks required to add something to a cart and check-out.
Granted, Hubwoo is not alone in the supplier network and SAP SRM surround/enhancement market – it’s a crowded space. But amongst dozens of supplier network and e-invoicing providers in the market, Hubwoo still has among the most experience integrating and working with SAP environments. They’ve also cleverly moved to partner with Microsoft to get closer to their SMB ERP/financials customers and have added a number of other network-driven elements (supplier profile, search, etc.) to its collaboration value proposition outside of connectivity itself.
Hubwoo is clearly a provider to know, whether your organization is looking for a bolt-on e-invoicing capability and supplier network connectivity on top of ERP procurement that does not have to cost suppliers transactional fees—or the entire plumbing that can surround an entire SRM deployment.
