This year Spend Matters is showing up in force – Jason, Pierre, Sheena, and I will all be in Las Vegas for the annual ISM conference. So will Lisa Reisman, executive editor of our sister site MetalMiner.

I get in on Sunday afternoon to meet up with some ISM people (we have a partnership with ISM) and will spend Monday and Tuesday mainly on the expo floor, catching up with solution providers. The others on the Spend Matters and MetalMiner teams have various presentations to deliver. Check these sessions:

Sheena Smith

“From Wikis to White Papers: Brand Yourself by Leveraging Social Media and Other Resources”

Monday, May 5, 2014, 10:40 am to 11:40 am

Track: Emerging Practitioners

Jason Busch

“Spend Analysis Meets Big Data: A Checklist for New Procurement Analytics”

Monday, May 5, 2014, 10:40 am to 11:40 am

Track: Big Data, Analytics

Lisa Reisman

“Using Macroeconomic Indicators to Drive Procurement Decision-Making”

Monday, May 5, 2014, 3:00 pm to 4:15 pm

Track: Global Economic Indicators

Don’t miss these presentations – great content and a great opportunity to catch up with the people behind the Spend Matters machine. Insider tip here for practitioners and providers: don’t work through a PR firm with analysts. You really want to build those relationships directly. We’re all more likely to pick up the phone when we already have a relationship with the caller – fact of life, even with analysts.

Since the others are busy delivering presentations, this lets me catch up with the activities on the floor, which will be fun as there’s always something new and of course lots of gossip. Who has moved where? What’s really going on behind the marketing façade? Keep an eye out for me and flag me down. It’d be great to catch up.
