US Inventories Stagnant, West Coast Port Problems Return To Oakland

US business inventories rose just 0.1% in January, the Commerce Department reported today. The number of months it will take to clear (or sell) that inventory, too, is now at its highest level since July 2009.

A staffing dispute sparked a standoff among workers Wednesday at the Port of Oakland, which handles the third-largest volume among West Coast ports. The container terminal at the port was shut down yesterday.

Airlines are making small investments in overseas carriers in an attempt to grow savings and profits. Full cross-border airline mergers are limited and sometimes prohibited.

Honda will launch an ad campaign to encourage owners of vehicles with the defective Takata air bags to have their cars repaired. Ads will air on the radio, on Facebook and in newspapers.
