Afternoon Coffee: Singapore Named Global Trade Winner, Poll Shows UK SMEs Struggle to Work with Big Businesses

Singapore was named the winner in Bloomberg’s recent survey of the top 15 economies winning in global trade. The country leads with a surplus GDP of nearly 20%.

A new poll showed UK small-and medium-sized businesses face struggle to create long-term relationships with business partners, face supply chain abuse from large companies and routinely receive late payments.

A short supply of houses helped boost the price of home resales in February by 1.2% to an annual rate of 4.88 million units, the National Association of Realtors reported today. The rise comes after January’s 4.9% decline of existing home sales.

Total SA is turning to Chinese financiers to help fund the company’s expansion in Russia. Total is seeking about $15 billion to fund its Yamal liquified natural gas project in the Russian Arctic.
