As Our Site Grows, So Does Our Staff – Spend Matters Excited to Bring Assistant Editor On Board Kaitlyn McAvoy - June 18, 2015 6:21 AM | Categories: Industry News | Tags: General News From Connecticut to Chicago, from trained classical musician to journalist, Nick Heinzmann has made a number of moves in recent years. But we here at Spend Matters are most excited at his latest one: from a recent Medill grad to Spend Matters Assistant Editor. The Spend Matters Network welcomed Nick to the editorial team this week, and he has already hit the ground running working with our analyst team and fine-tuning their content for our readers and subscribers. Nick is looking forward to learning more about not just the blog, but about the supply chain and procurement industry as a whole. Back at Northwestern University (where he majored in music during undergrad and recently graduated with a master’s in journalism), Nick challenged himself during graduate school by learning business and economic reporting and writing. He even wrote about the agriculture industry, which piqued a new interest and helped him land a role at our procurement-focused blog. “Procurement and supply chain is really something that makes the world run, and I wanted to learn more,” Nick said. After graduating from Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism, he also knew he wanted to work in the B2B environment (as well as stay in Chicago). B2B, according to Nick, is a great place to learn new skills and “wear more hats.” Spend Matters is excited to have him on board. We are also happy he made the career move from a life in musical performance to the world of procurement. Join us in welcoming our latest member to the Spend Matters team!
