Container volume at the Port of New York and New Jersey was up 14.1% during July from a year earlier. The port saw a total of 88,918 20-foot equivalent units in July– a record amount for the port.

Cargo thefts were up 8% during the second quarter of 2015, and the value of stolen products increased 70% from the same time last year to more than $19.5 million. Food and beverage products were the most stolen items.

US GDP grew 3.7% during the second quarter of 2015, more than initially thought and higher than experts had predicted.
