Job creation remained at its 7-year high in September, according to the Gallup Job Creation Index, which registered +32 for the month. This was the fifth consecutive month the index hit +32. The American Trucking Associations released a report saying the trucking industry will need to hire 890,000 drivers over the next 10 years, or 47,500 drivers each year, in order to meet increasing demands and to replace workers retiring from the industry. More consumers will spend more money during this year’s holiday shopping season than they did for the holidays in 2014, according to The NPD Group's latest survey. The report showed 15% of consumers plan to spend more money for the holidays this year.
