The index hit 52.6 in November, down from the 54.1 in October. Ocean carriers say traffic is picking up again at the Panama Canal after some container ships were experiencing 10-day wait times due to higher than normal demand. The Canal Authority also reported wait times have been reduced by 40%. CMA CGM and Neptune Orient Lines entered into an exclusivity agreement for CMA CGM to acquire the Singapore-based container shipping company. CMA CGM has until the end of Dec. 7 to make a formal offer. A new survey from Deloitte shows consumers view free shipping as a top priority for holiday shopping, with 72% of survey participants saying they plan to take advantage of the offer.
