The company outfitted a Ford Fusion with radar, laser scanners and cameras — technology Uber said could save lives, reduce congestion and offer more affordable transportation. Tesla Motors’ suppliers will have to ramp up production of parts as the electric car maker announced it wanted to launch its Model 3 in 2018, two years earlier than originally planned. Tesla Chief Executive Elon Musk said the company wanted to begin production tests for Model 3s in July 2017, acknowledging that goal may be unrealistic for some suppliers. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced today new requirements for nutrition labels on packaged food items. Among them is a requirement for food companies to declare grams and percent daily value for “added sugars” on the label. In case you missed it, Gartner released its Supply Chain Top 25 earlier this week. The list names the companies Gartner believes are leaders in the supply chain.
