The Spend Matters team is in Orlando this week bringing you live coverage and more from ISM’s annual event. See what Chief Research Officer Pierre Mitchell has had to say so far (spoiler: it’s great!), and be sure to check back throughout the week for more coverage from the rest of the team.

And if you’re at the event, be sure to look out for the client services team, which is handing out plaques to vendors that made our 50 to Watch and 50 to Know lists for 2017. This year there’s even a surprise entry in the 50 to Watch to be revealed at a later date. Stay tuned for more!

Keelvar On-Demand

Sourcing optimization provider Keelvar announced last week it had released an offering for on-demand sourcing events. Keelvar On-Demand allows procurement organizations to purchase one-off, custom tailored sourcing events from $670. The offerings supports RFQs, RFIs and auctions.

China E-Commerce

Barriers to entry in the coveted Chinese consumer market may soon become less intimidating, according to Bloomberg. The Chinese government is looking to overhaul legal loopholes that will make the processes of cross-border e-commerce more attractive to foreign companies.

A very interesting development from Keelvar and one we would encourage. We would like to think we have pioneered the true self service model, on demand, and it is nice to see it spreading {perhaps in a slightly different form}. It will be interesting to see how other providers react and how they price wrt value/ service. One would just need to draw parallels between CRM systems and eSourcing to see where the market could/ will go?
