Afternoon Coffee: Jaggaer Closes Acquisition of BravoSolution, US and South Korea to Hold Trade Talks

In case you missed it, Jaggaer announced last week that it completed its acquisition of BravoSolution, the company said in a press release. The closing means Jaggaer now has more than 1,850 customers “connected to a network of 3.7 million suppliers in 70 countries.”

Trade Negotiations

The US and South Korea will meet Friday to hold talks on the pending free trade agreement between the two countries, Automotive News reports. While the previous administration laid the foundation of the pact, President Trump has threatened to withdraw from the deal, saying he wants to narrow the US’s $28 billion trade deficit with South Korea.

Nintendo Disruption         

After a successful first year on the market, Nintendo’s Switch console is facing supply chain delays after the company told game developers it is delaying delivery of 64-gigabyte game cards needed for more data-rich software titles, according to the Wall Street Journal. The cards were supposed to be available to partners in the second half of 2018, but “technical issues” have pushed back delivery to 2019.

Oil Prices 

And finally, an energy update: Oil prices rose sharply on Tuesday, Reuters reports, hitting mid-2015 highs amid anti-government rallies in Iran and continuing production cuts from OPEC and Russia.
