CIPS and Seal Software – Peter Smith live and kicking!

Two quick reminders for you.

On Thursday I’m speaking at the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Surrey Branch meeting, in Guildford.  the extravaganza starts at 6pm, refreshment included, details here – there are still places available, must be booked today, all free of charge!

The topic is “Horses for Courses” and I’ll be covering a range of issues round how you can really understand your suppliers and make sure that what you get from them is what you expect.  I’ve got a few slides but I hope we can get into some genuine debate as well. I’ll be asking, for instance, whether our traditional view of the “sourcing cycle” is out of date and partly responsible for some of the problems many organisations have with suppliers.

Secondly, don’t forget the Seal Software event on May 7th in London at the offices of PWC (near London Bridge). That’s from 3pm till 5pm, followed by some refreshments.

The topic here is “Procurement’s role in risk management throughout the lifecycle”,  and we’ll be covering the procurement lifecycle and risks within it, with a strong focus on contract and supplier management again. As well as my presentation, you can hear Tim Cummins, CEO of the International Association for Contract & Commercial Management, who is a very good speaker and always has interesting ideas to share.

Then we also have Simon Chard of PWC speaking  – he leads a team “helping clients review, improve and transform capability in procurement, outsourcing, off-shoring, risk management and governance”.

You can book here ( free) – places are limited so don’t delay! Hope to see some readers on Thursday or on the 7th.
