Coupa Inspire – Looking Forward to Another Illuminating Event

We are looking forward to Coupa Inspire on October 17, they do host some impressive events. There's always something new - from announcements to demos to ideas to simply good presentations - you never know quite what you're going to get, but it's usually something illuminating with a fun theme.

As far as the agenda goes - we saw Brenda Robinson from Allied Irish Bank recently at eWorld in a Q&A session, she clearly knows the ins and outs of going through a Coupa implementation having project managed one, so it will be interesting to listen to what she has to say in her own presentation - T & E for the Modern Enterprise: Becoming Operationally fit using the power of the Community.

Then 'Coupa's Sourcing Optimisation New Capabilities & Deep Dive' should be well worth a listen to see what they've come up with next. And the customer presentation: eSourcing in practice., with Maersk Line, shoud equally prove interesting. There are many other sessions of course - you can see the agenda for yourself here.

And here are just a couple of reports from last year just, to whet your appetite:

Coupa Inspire – Initial impressions

October 13, 2016 - "We made a flying visit to the Coupa Inspire event in London - a  bit of a diary clash meant it was literally for a couple of hours only. But that was enough to be impressed by the event. At 9 am we estimate there were already close to 500 people in The Brewery, a very pleasant conference venue in Chiswell Street, London. That provided keynote speaker, Coupa CEO Rob Bernshteyn, with his one joke. "People asked  what we would do after our IPO last week - I said we were going to the biggest brewery we could find".  (Coupa floated as a public company on Nasdaq last week) ..."

Rob Bernshteyn at Coupa Inspire – Keynote Highlights

October 17, 2016 - "Bernshteyn said 'our main competition is ourselves' – other key players are in the “cash-cow” stage of their lifecycle, focusing on monetising their products. An interesting line to take in terms of competitive positioning, we thought. 'We want to get paid fairly but we want high returns for you, the customer', he said. We will have to see if that altruistic attitude to margins survives the pressures of being a quoted company, of course. We didn't really get any sense of the corporate direction post IPO - there was not even a hint of any acquisitions, geographical expansion or really much on corporate strategy at all. Presumably there has to be more care now the firm in public.

So, we'll be interested to hear what he has to say this year in his opening keynote.

The overall theme for the day by the way is Unleash Real Value. And it takes place at the London Hilton - Park Lane.

We hope to see you there - Peter can't make it this year owning to (yet again) a clash of events, I will be joined by our US colleague Sheena Smith, VP of client services - so do come and say hello. Inspire is a fantastic networking and learning event in a stimulating environment with some really expereinced people!
