Royal Navy to pay for HMS Victory upkeep

Ye are herewith invited by the power and pleasure of the Admiral of the Fleet Horatio Nelson, 1st Viscount Nelson, 1st Duke of Bronté, KB, to submit a tender for the maintenance and upkeep of the flagship of the fleet, the HMS Victory.  Scurvy knaves, pirates, treacherous felons, Frenchies and Spaniards need not apply.

The Navy has announced that it is about to put out a tender for a 10 year maintenance contract for Victory, worth about £20 million.  I didn't get round to visiting Victory until a few years back; and it was one of those rare historical attractions that far exceeded my expectations - it is really interesting and impressive.  Unfortunately, it needs a lot of work to keep it up to scratch.

So, a high profile contract opportunity for an appropriate provider!

Will the invioices be paid in pieces of eight, pieces of eight?

Why do all my comments today refer to parrots?
