Spend Matters 50 Providers to Watch – Directworks

Now we have announced the Spend Matters 50 to Know and 50 to Watch, our US site and my colleagues there have started running through all the 100 listed providers to give a brief but insightful reasoning behind their inclusion. These are brilliant short summaries of each company’s offerings,  and will be of great value I know for many readers.

So I thought what I would do here , rather than just copying the US pieces, is add any comments I might have on the firm, then give you the link to the US post. You can decide whether you want to read the whole US article. Now in some cases, my entire comment will be ‘I don’t really know this firm’. In other cases, I will be able to add some further value and insight myself, and very rarely, I know the firm better than Jason and Co.

Today , we will start with the first firm featured on Spend Matters US – Directworks. And this is one that I can’t really contribute too much. So let’s give you Jason’s first paragraph, and you can link through if you want more.

“We’re keeping our promise of writing up the Spend Matters 50/50 (see Providers to Know and Providers to Watch) in the order in which we received their quick RFI response for their entry in the Almanac. If the procurement early bird gets the worm, Directworks takes the prize here. It’s no surprise actually that Directworks was the first to respond. After all, this is a manufacturing-centric procurement provider that is working with organizations with strict on-time performance requirements.

They are so far ahead of any other technology provider we’ve seen in combining elements of sourcing, product design/collaboration, complicated bid submission and management, data controls/IP, and related capabilities specifically targeted at manufacturing sourcing”.
