Spend Matters 50 To Watch — Verian

Following the launch of the Spend Matters 50 to Know and 50 to Watch list, our US site and our colleagues are running through all the providers to give the reasoning behind their inclusion. These are brilliant short summaries of each company’s offerings, and will be of great value for many readers. We are adding our comments about the firms; for some we may have little to add, but for others we can offer further value and insight. We will then give you the link to the US post for you to read in full if you wish.

In the case of today's firm, we really can't add much at all, at the moment anyway. Verian is based in Charlotte in the USA and whilst I'm sure some of its customers have a global footprint, Verian itself seems pretty US-focused. However, looking at its growth rate, and the very good reviews my US colleagues have given its products, it may not be too long before we see it making moves this side of the Atlantic.

Here’s an excerpt from the US review:

"... a provider that has largely flown under the radar of the procurement technology scene, at least in terms of marketing. However, it has supported some of the more complicated configurations we’ve seen for P2P outside of Ariba or ERP deployments costing 10X or even more in systems integrator costs (inclusive of e-invoicing, eProcurement, inventory and asset management – not to mention other areas). But Verian also supports the basics and can go head-to-head with some of the bigger name P2P providers."

"Verian has invested significantly in R&D in recent years to shift to a SaaS model – but has managed to maintain the level of configurability more commonly associated with software implementations."
