Welcome to Zycus, our new sponsors

The eagle-eyed amongst you may have noticed that, as well as the new research paper we made available last week, a new sponsors logo appeared as well! Is there no end to the excitement that Spend Matters provides you?

Yes, and seriously, we’re delighted to welcome Zycus to the Spend Matters UK/Europe fold.  They have worked with Jason Busch and colleagues at Spend Matters US for some time, but now, reflecting their increasing presence in Europe, they’re working with us as well. With Indian and US origins, and still privately owned, they’re a substantial player in the procurement software world, with over 600 staff and 200+ customers.

Zycus started out very much as a Spend Analytics firm, and they still have considerable strength in that area. But in recent years, they’ve developed a much wider suite.  Jason has written a couple of good pieces on the firm recently  – here is a quote which sums up their development and product range:

“Zycus' transformation from spend analysis (really, spend classification) specialist to integrated suite provider happened at a rather furious pace given how little many of its competitors have accomplished from a product development and R&D perspective in the same time frame. ... Today, the individual components of Zycus' suite include not only e-sourcing, but also a range of other areas: basic optimization, supplier performance management, supplier management, contract management, total cost modelling and savings tracking/implementation."

And very recently, they’ve moved into purchase to pay transactional area as well - more to come in that area, for sure.

I spoke to Paul Cook last week, who joined Zycus recently as European Sales Director after a long career in procurement solutions (Trading Partners from the early days until 2011, more recently at Aquanima, Santander’s procurement services business).

“I’ve joined to help push the European expansion” he says. “We’ll be promoting the new product suite – but its’ not like I’m coming into a start-up. We’ve already got 16 customers in Europe and a solid base, with an existing team, so we’re building on good foundations. Indeed, we see Europe as an absolutely key area for us”.

We’ll be featuring Zycus and their products in more detail here, so look out for that in the not too distant future.
