A New Federal Mandate: Strategic Sourcing

Is anyone else who reads this blog tired of Republicans and Democrats fighting over judicial nominations? Personally, I'm much more excited when the feds actually talk about reducing costs through Spend Management!

And in this case, there’s action behind the rhetoric. The "strategic sourcing" mandate will require "[Government] Agencies to identify three commodities that can be acquired more efficiently through strategic sourcing. By January 2006, chief acquisition officers must submit reports to OMB on savings generated as a result of strategic sourcing."
