Deloitte's New FDI Studies

I enjoyed reading through some of the highlights of Deloitte's new studies on US foreign direct investment (FDI).

Perhaps the most interesting finding is that "Contrary to the perception that U.S. manufacturers are moving operations abroad to reduce costs, foreign direct investments have been concentrated in high-wage countries, demonstrating that companies are focused more on growth than on cost-cutting."

The first report, Growing the Global Corporation: Global Investment Trends of U.S. Manufacturers, is available here. You can find the second report, the Value of Globalization: Profiting from Continuous Optimization, on the Deloitte Research site.
