An Outsourcing Thoroughbred Heads to AMR

I recently learned through a LinkedIn announcement that Phil Fersht, author of the popular outsourcing outlet, Horse for Sources, is giving up his consulting wings and trading them in for a role covering the outsourcing market for AMR Research. On his blog, Phil notes that he is "returning to my analyst roots with AMR Research, where I will be studying Outsourcing and Implementation Services markets for AMR's enterprise clients AMR sets such a high standard with its research ... Moreover, I am delighted to end my days of waking up every morning in airport Marriotts, stuffing free beer from the concierge lounge in my laptop bag each evening, and getting back to what I love doing best." I wish Phil the best of luck in his new endeavor (even though I doubt that he'll ever give up the swiping the free beer). And I'm glad that he is going to work for a firm which has such a strong reputation in the Spend Management world. Given this combination, let's hope that Phil and Mickey begin to cover the procurement outsourcing world more aggressively.
