A Fool's Rant — Taking on Next Level Purchasing (and the SPSM Certification)

The Spend Fool, a frequent commentator in Spend Matters comments section, is not my alter ego, as some have suggested (I wish I had that level of wit). No, he's clearly one of the true experts in the field -- not just a blogger like me -- albeit one that is unable to divulge his identity because of his/her day job. Over the years, The Spend Fool has taken on ISM and various vendors along the way, throwing his bells down in front of puppet courts and star chambers that deserve to be exposed. But lately, I know the Fool has been warming slightly to ISM's latest certification requirements, if not the organization itself. I'll leave that for The Fool to comment on, but in the meantime, I'd like to call your attention to a recent rant of his where he's called out some of the challenges of Next Level Purchasing's for-profit industry certification model. Is the Fool right? Don't judge a jester by his bells -- or a certification by its similar sounding name.

Would you recommend taking the classes offered by Next Level Purchasing? I would like to take classes online to make myself more marketable but am not sure if this would be a smart move. Any advise would be appreciated. Thank you

Did you ever get any feedback on this or take the course?
