UK Hires Regulator to Protect Food Suppliers, Panjiva Introduces US Export Data, Carnival Replaces CEO

The UK appoints a new government adjudicator to enforce supermarkets’ fair treatment of suppliers.

Panjiva recently introduced data on over 3 million exports from the US since 2009, organized into 80,000 company profiles that specify product capabilities, shipment history and contact details.

Carnival replaces its CEO as advance bookings fall, but the real news is that the cruise company managed a $41 million second-quarter profit even after the Carnival Triumph fiasco.

Analysts predict that the birth of Britain’s royal baby, due in mid-July, could boost the economy by £243 million.
