Basware Partners with MasterCard, Walmart Elevates 70,000 Employees, Apple’s Successful Launch Weekend

E-invoicing and P2P provider Basware has partnered with MasterCard, one of the world’s largest payment networks, to launch a new electronic payment solution that would allow suppliers to be paid promptly upon invoice approval, as well as extend payment terms for buyers. According to a new International Labor Organization report, child labor has declined by one-third since 2000. However, there are still an estimated 168 million child laborers around the world, more than half of whom are involved in “hazardous work.”

Apple, Inc. sold a record nine million of its newest iPhone models over the launch weekend.

Walmart is giving 35,000 part-time employees full-time status and moving another 35,000 temp workers to part-time after last year’s difficulty keeping store shelves stocked, a result of too few employees.
