Lufthansa Names Spohr as New CEO, Procuring Snow for Sochi Winter Olympics, Low-Cost Long-Haul Flights

Lufthansa has named Carsten Spohr as its new chief executive, a decision that comes in the midst of the airline’s restructuring.

Finnish company Snow Secure took care of snow procurement for the Sochi Winter Olympics, providing approximately 1.5 million cubic meters (53 million cubic feet) of it.

Norwegian Air Shuttle’s plan to bring low-cost long-haul flights to the United States has seen strong opposition from American labor groups, airlines, and pilots.
