Bangladesh Labor Activists Beaten and Threatened, Food Supply Legislation in UAE, New BMW Recall

Labor activists in Bangladesh claim say have been beaten and threatened for trying to form unions among garment factory workers.

New legislation up for approval in the United Arab Emirates would penalize food operators selling contaminated, fake, or rotten foods with jail sentences of up to three years and fines of up to the equivalent of $544,519.

BMW is recalling more than 150,000 cars and SUVs due to faulty engine bolts.

The price of beef has reached a 27-year high due to drought and increased global demand.
