Companies File Conflict Minerals Reports, Seattle Approves $15 Minimum Wage, New Gallup Poll

Conflict minerals reports thus far filed by US companies have been mixed in their level of detail. Apple, Intel, and HP have filed comprehensive reports, whereas Oracle and Herman Miller have been “vague.”

Seattle’s City Council has unanimously approved raising the local minimum wage to $15 an hour, more than double the federal minimum and now the highest big-city minimum in the U.S.

Auto sales in the U.S. surged in May, with Chrysler and Nissan leading.

According to a recent Gallup poll, Americans’ reports of daily spending reached a six-year high of $98, up $10 from April.
