Dollar General Making “Hostile” Move in Purchase Pursuit of Family Dollar, Microsoft Looks to Buy Popular Online Game

Dollar General announced it would take its $9.1 billion bid to buy Family Dollar Stores Inc. directly to shareholders. The move is being reported as a “hostile” one, and the offer for Family Dollar boils down to a price of $80 per share.

Microsoft may buy the makers of the popular game Minecraft for $2 billion.

Yesterday, Apple revealed its new iPhone. While the new device is set to go on sale Sept. 19 in the United States, and in some countries in Europe and Asia, China will not be one of them. China will reportedly have to wait to sell the iPhone 6.

Telecom companies in the United States, however, are preparing for the release of the iPhone 6, as they are set to offer their customers trade-in deals for the new Apple device.
