Apple’s iPhone 6 Preorder Issues Continue; Hedge Fund Plans to Fix Olive Garden

Apple’s iPhone 6 preorders started today and while the ordering process was smooth for many, there have been a few hiccups.

More than 1 million Kidde residential smoke and carbon monoxide alarms have been recalled because of a defect that could cause them to fail.

Starboard Value, one of Olive Garden’s largest shareholders, has created a 294-page revival plan for the chain restaurant (here's the actual document in question). Suggestions include: better breadstick management, firmer and saltier noodles, and a stronger focus on alcohol sales (bring on the wine!).

U.S. retail sales increased by 0.6 percent in August – a sign of “sturdy” economic growth.
