Amazon Gears Up For Holiday Season, Lenovo Expects to Close on IBM Server Business This Week

It may not be Thanksgiving yet. Heck, we haven’t even hit Halloween. But Amazon has started its holiday season planning with goals to avoid the delays in shipments seen around Christmas last year, according to a new analysis of the online retailer.

This week, Lenovo Group Ltd. plans to finalize its acquisition of International Business Machines Corp. low-end server business. The $2.1 billion deal is expected to close Wednesday.

In other M&A news, Softbank Corp. is reportedly exploring buying DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc.

After experiencing a major jump in profits from the UK, the discount grocer Aldi said it will invest $975 million in the next two years to expand its market share in the region.
