Google Spending Soars, Walmart Workers Demand Higher Wages, Ebola Scare Pushes Up Sales of Cleaning Products

High business spending is one major factor that led to lower-than-expected earnings in the third quarter of the year for Google.

Walmart workers gathered in New York, Washington and Phoenix on Thursday to bring more attention to their efforts to raise labor wages to a minimum of $15 an hour.

The amount of cleaning products flying off store shelves has significantly increased in the last few weeks due to the Ebola scare. Sales are reportedly up 28 percent over last month.

Faulty rear suspension parts in some vehicles has led Volkswagen to issue a recall of more than 1.1 million cars in North America and China.
