Car, Energy News from China and the Chicken Food Supply Chain

Car makers have cut sales projections in China for 2014. During the first three quarters of the year, car sales in China grew just 7 percent – down from the 13 percent seen the previous year.

China - the world’s largest polluter of greenhouse gases - now tops the list for the country investing the most in clean energy. A new report shows China produces more wind and solar energy equipment than any other country and is showing the largest demand for renewable energy.

More food companies are cutting the use of antibiotics in their food supply chain. Perdue and Tyson Foods are two companies that have made strides to limit the amount, or eliminate the use entirely, of antibiotics it gives it chickens.

Stryker Corp., the maker of hip implants recalled in 2012, will pay more than $1 billion to settle lawsuits regarding the defective device that damaged tissue around the hip and caused patients pain and swelling.
