China’s Biggest Shopping Day Breaks Record, Ford Produces New Aluminum Truck

It's "Singles Day" in China, which is exactly what it sounds like - a day to celebrate single people. However, it is also the biggest shopping day of the year for the country, and online shopping sales on Alibaba hit $8 billion - breaking previous records.

Other news from China: the country is now home to a company that has become the world's largest consumer drone maker by revenue. SZ DJI Technology Co. creates the devices that sell for about $1,000 each.

Today, Ford was set to begin producing its new aluminum-sided 2015 F-150 pickup truck at its Dearborn, Michigan, truck plant. It will be the first time aluminum will cover the entire body of a large vehicle. The truck is expected to be lighter and more fuel efficient.

Halloween may be long gone by now, but Chicagoans could still be in for a scare. Zombie mannequins are bobbing around in Lake Michigan after a floating haunted house sank due to the severe weather the city saw on the holiday. Crews continue to work to find and recover the zombies.
