Supplier Sales Rise in Q3, 3D Printing Expected to Change Supply Chain

Industry suppliers saw sales rise 4.7% in the third quarter, according to a new report. Additionally, 57% of suppliers reported year-over-year sales increased in Q3.

A new report predicts the 3D printing market will reach $16.2 billion by 2018. And, as the technology advances and adoption increases, 3D printing is expected to revolutionize manufacturing and the supply chain.

Global spending on medicine could rise as much as 30% by 2018 to reach $1.3 trillion, ISM reported.

Americans are limiting impulse spending, and retailers are feeling the affects. Shoppers are reportedly more frugal with their purchases, buying only what is on their shopping list and buying more online, which limits browsing store isles.
